2011 Syrah

2011 Syrah
Estate - Syrah

Given the unique terroir of Ballard Canyon, Syrah excels here, offering finished wines that are balanced and complex.  Our fine and sandy soil type lends to Syrah that expresses unique minerality while our cooler climate helps to maintain balced acidity to the expressive fruit character of the Syrah varietal.

Ratings
"The 2011 Syrah is laced with black cherry, plum, spice, menthol and new leather. Ample and rich on the palate, the 2011 shows the juicy bold personality of Syrah in its open-knit personality. There is a good amount of energy, but the 2011 is forward and needs to be enjoyed sooner rather than later. Hints of violet, lavender and spice meld into the inviting finish. The 2011 spent 22 months in French oak barrels, 30% new." 92 points - Antonio Galloni

Although I lack the vocabulary to praise the wine, this is the best syrah I have ever tasted for less that $100!
